SUMMARY

Charl is a licensed Landscape Architect in the Philippines and currently pursuing an International Master of Science in Rural Development in Ghent University, Universidad de Cordoba, and Humboldt University Berlin under the Erasmus Mundus Mobility Program.

By integrating his background in landscape architecture, Charl is keen to explore nature financing through biodiversity tokenization using Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

He advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights by understanding the effects of national policies on the deterrence of Indigenous knowledge and practices. His expertise revolves around the investigation of the efficacy of creative social learning processes in communicating with the Mangyan Iraya tribe of Mindoro. He believes that the Indigenous and local communities should be the centre of conservation knowledge co-production.
